About the Project

This game was created for a class in which we were given the following prompt: "A scientist embarks on a quest to cure a disease thought incurable, aiming to achieve the pinnacle of medical breakthroughs", as well as 4 weeks to complete it. It was my first exposure to such a restrictive creative environment and tight deadline which forced us to make smart decisions throughout development. As such, I created our Notion board to organize and schedule tasks, we constantly communicated openly about our opinions, and we scoped down the project by cutting it down to its essential elements. Just by making some smart decisions, we arrived at a fun compact experience in a relatively short time frame, so much so that our game won the "Best Fun" award from a class-wide vote.
The main thing I gained from this project was the importance of communication. With any creative group venture, communicate, communicate, communicate. Share ideas, joke around, keep it light-hearted, tell people if unforeseen circumstances pop up so they can actually cover for you. As long as you're respectful, it is always a good thing to talk to one another. True artistry cannot exist in a bubble, it arises amid the sharing of ideas to arrive at a greater truth.
